* Writing away. I'm shelving the [livejournal.com profile] crowley_bigbang for a couple of weeks (I'm almost done, but I'd kind of like to ride this season out before filling out the ending) since there are a few smaller fics due for exchanges in the next month or so. One is White Collar, and there are a couple HP as well. Still working on my [livejournal.com profile] numb3rs_novella, and I'm pretty happy with the stride I've hit. It's a totally different kind of story than what I'm used to writing.

* I'm reccing Ron/Draco at the [livejournal.com profile] crack_broom this month! OMG, yay! It's giving me a great excuse to dive back into reading some HP fic that I would have otherwise passed by recently.

* Speaking of reading, I'm compiling a list of things I want to read on [livejournal.com profile] spn_cinema, but I haven't had time to sit down and dig into any of them yet.

* Okay, so, I think enough time has passed since Wednesday night that I can finally put together coherent thoughts on television.

* MY SHOOOOOOWWWW! Oh, my God, I love this show.

Winona being pregnant. I had a feeling that was coming. I like how they're dealing with it, though, because it's pretty clear that this isn't going to be a white picket fence scenario.

Ava getting shot by Dickie. I did not see that coming. Oh, Ava, please be okay. I can't imagine they'll kill her off too, not after Helen. I may be in the minority, but I liked Boyd's reaction to this. I liked that he had to feel the doctor out, that the conversation made it clear that Boyd's put her in a position where he even has to be suspicious of the people providing medical care. And his later conversation with Raylan:

"He shot Ava."

"How bad?"

"Raylan, that's not the point."

Was so. fucking. perfect. OMG. Boyd's ability to not smack his head against that tree at that point was amazing.

And while I'm on the topic, there may have only been one Boyd/Raylan scene this episode, but it was so perfectly them that I felt completely satisfied with it.

Doyle getting shot in the head (by Tim, presumably) was a little surprising. I would have guessed that he'd be the last Bennett standing, but there's something fitting about it being Dickie in the end. I wonder if Dickie finally feels vindicated after arguing with Doyle and Mags at every decision this season.

Could I love Art any more? No, no I could not. "I said get on the ground, hillbillies!" OMG. <3333

Loretta just broke my heart so many times over. Answering Raylan's question about what her daddy would want her to do by telling him she wished her daddy were there right now to tell her was just wrenching. And it took a cliched scene and turned it around. I can't believe she actually shot Mags. What a ballsy, ballsy girl.

Mags. Part of me is absolutely gutted to see her go. It was like a special occasion to watch Margo Martindale play this role every week on my tv. But damn, that ending packed a punch. Not only because it had me thinking, "Holy shit, are they really killing Raylan?" but because in spite of how sinister and ruthless Mags had been all season, she went out with some class, and on her own terms.

To sum up, I think I'm totally ready to start writing some of this fic out of my head. That's what this summer will be for. Otherwise, I'll go nuts waiting for next season.

* The Vampire Diaries. I am so done with this shit. Seriously. Ick. If I really want to see women being tortured and murdered in these numbers (and sometimes by the fucking romantic hero of the story?), I'd spend more time reading the news. Between that and the god-awful plotting/writing, I don't see a single redeeming quality in this show anymore. I know it probably doesn't help this is on the night after Justified, with a few themes that run parallel, because there's just no fucking comparison at all. To make it worse, I caught up with what I've been missing on Community and I'm wondering WTF I was thinking this year. Needless to say, next week, I'll be watching part 2 of A Fist Full of Paintballs. Part 1 was so brilliant.

* Happy birthday to Ron Swanson! I love that even though it was so obvious how the show would end from the very beginning (who didn't know that Leslie would do just the perfect thing for Ron's birthday?), I still enjoyed it all the way through. AND PARKER POSEY! OMG. On my list of most favoritey favoritist actresses, she is way up there near the top. Still so much love for April and Andy.

* Looking forward to Supernatural tonight.

* Was going to take a long walk today, but I've got several sick hellmonkeys, so I think we're stuck indoors. Suck. Hopefully they'll be well enough to trek it to the Tulip festival for Mother's Day.
