I need to clean my kitchen from top to bottom today. Therefore, I'm sitting here in front of the laptop.
I've spent the last few days dealing with all sorts of RL odds and ends (nothing extraordinary, just that day to day crap that piles up), and I feel like I've been fandom-neglectful. (Because I'm usually so fandom involved, right? LOL!) Anyway, I need to get back on the writing track. I feel like such a slacker. I suppose it would be easier to get updates written if I stopped volunteering for every position that comes my way. It's not that I don't know how to say no, though, it's more that I don't want to. I really, really, really like volunteering. (But, um, it would probably be good to get some more paid work, too.)
So, obviously, I'm not participating in the whole strike against LJ thing. There are plenty of things that I boycott, both because in some cases I think my boycott will make a difference, and because in other cases I just feel better when I don't give my money to companies whose ethics are vastly different than mine. LJ's not really even on my radar in those categories, though. There was a time when I wasn't particularly comfortable posting certain content here, and there are still some things I wouldn't post here, which is why I use IJ in those cases, but honestly, LJ is a business, and they're allowed to decide what kind of content they want, or where they want to place their ads, or what kind of products they want to offer. Okay, wow, now I'm rambling, so I'll stop here and talk about something else.
Eldest hellmonkey is seriously bemoaning the lack of roller rinks around here. I remember having them all over the place when I was a kid, and now the only local one is wickedly expensive. We're looking forward to the weather breaking so we can use some of the outdoor skate parks in the area.
Right, so. Back to cleaning. More on writing later (Heh. Or, "moron writing later", if you prefer.) when I'm done with my chores. *nods*
