What is this? A center for ants?
Jun. 9th, 2011 11:43 pm* I have all the focus of a gnat on caffeine tonight. I don't know what my problem is. I should be writing. I have things to write. All I want to do is find shiny things and pet them. Gah.
* In less frustrating news, my "It's OK to be Takei!" mousepad arrived today. I was desperately in need of a new mousepad, so this makes me all kinds of happypants.
* I finished a fest fic last night and I'm not at all happy with it. In fact, I'm a little reluctant to ever attach my name to it because it's just... not good. On the one hand, it's 5k, so I feel an obligation to send it in. On the other, I wonder if I should just drop out (it's not an exchange, but a prompt-based fest) instead of turning in something I find mediocre at best.
* Started rewatching BSG. <3
* Working on the next chapter of The Librarian's Debt, in which there is more plot, and more characters, and I'm hoping that I can still maintain the tone and mood.
* Also working on my
teddy_fest fic, which I am so very much in love with. Oh, Teddy.
* So I signed up for
femgenficathon, because I think it's just an amazing thing. And I might actually end up writing two stories, because there are two female characters (different fandoms) that I have been DYING to write about but haven't really had a deadline to prompt me into doing it.
* YOU GUYS, I detached my fried keyboard without ruining my laptop! I am so proud of me because I am not usually capable of doing these things without disaster. But I did it! Now, hopefully, I can install the new keyboard when it arrives without any further problems. Because there was no WAY I was going to pay Best Buy as much as they wanted to send it away and have it fixed. And actually, at the moment, it's wicked hot in here and I kind of like just having the wireless keyboard on my lap instead of the lapdesk. No more random z key going off and ruining everything! I am so smart! S-M-R-T! /Homer Simpson
* I made popsicles today. They were mango/banana/coconut milk and why yes, they were very delicious. Then we had popcorn and watermelon for dinner because it was hot and I was lazy.
* How are you tonight, flist? Weekend plans? We'll be traveling on Sunday, but home by midweek next week.
