So I have a new layout now. Jeremy Northam. *g* Which will hopefully get me all geared up to do some serious writing. Or, um, encourage me to procrastinate more while staring at how pretty he is. I'm not sure which.
Anyway, I've decided that I'm going to start pushing myself to read more, as well as getting back on track with my writing. Every week I take books out of the library with good intentions, but I never seem to finish them, or even start them in many cases. The last thing I really read aside from some short stories, or something with the kids, was the Zombie Survival Guide. Which, I mean, is fine, since I can now protect myself and my loved ones from an attack of the undead, but I'd like to sink my teeth into a bit of actual literature as well. Or at the very least, some good fiction.
So, to that end, please rec me anything you've really enjoyed reading in the last year. I'd like to build up my wish list a bit. I'm currently working on The Witch's Trinity by Erika Mailman. The last thing that I read that seriously held my attention was St. Lucy's Home for Girls Raised by Wolves, by Karen Russell. It's a collection of short stories that are so gorgeously surreal. It's the kind of heart-achingly beautiful prose that I only wish I could write.
