Late to the party...
So, yesterday I was at the library, trying to look thoroughly absorbed in the movie section as some creepy guy tried to pick me up. ("Are you sure you're married? And there are no problems in your marriage? You're not wearing a ring. I was married 16 years. No marriages last these days. You are sooooo good looking. You look young enough to be in high school." Um, yeah, because that last ditch attempt to make yourself sound like a pedo is totally going to win me over.) Anyway, they had OotP, and because so many of you tried to reassure me over and over that I'd like it, I took it out.
And here's the part where I look up sheepishly and say yes, yes I really did like it. So,![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
wendynat, zagzagael, thistle_verse, and everyone else, I whole-heartedly admit you were right.
There were a few weird camera angles/edits that threw me out a little bit, and of course there were some details that I wished had been included, but overall I really, really liked it.
zagzagael, I am totally, totally getting the Sirius Black lust. OMG. Oldman is terrific. I also though Rickman was spot on as Snape (and I'm not generally a fan of Rickman!Snape). I loved Tonks and Luna.
Luna was perfect.
In fact, I loved most of the adult characters. It's fun to see how much JI loves playing Lucius. You can tell that he just eats the role up. I think the scene when Arthur came home from the hospital is one of my favorites. I'm still not entirely sold on Daniel Radcliffe or Emma Watson, but I really loved Rupert Grint in this one.
So anyway, that's my lame, totally late review. I think I might actually look forward to the last three movies now.
Also, I've been writing. A lot. And I'm very excited about it. This is new to me again. The last year has been anything but productive in terms of writing for me, and I finally feel like I can climb back on that horse.
I'm just trying to remind myself that I don't need more fandoms as the eldest hellmonkey has recently become interested in Death Note and Bleach and wow, I can see how those would be addictive.
And now I'm off to help the hellmonkeys navigate Runescape for a bit.
